COMMUNICATION
I.
glowing mountain of dread
smoke consumes our visions
we use whatever we have left
to yearn
for yoke of foreign suns
bloodletting, the familiarity
the slavedriver
II.
The mountain smoulders
lightning harangues
black covering for the unwitting
frozen by fire
breathe in holiness
breathe in terror
III.
how can this world contain
that which spoke it into being
the appearance of fire
stone, our mirror
an impossible weight
the future travels toward the past
every pair of hands visible
the universe must collide with itself
IV.
did your insides
melt upon visitation
a stone too large a comparison
the sun as a shadow
a secondary source
V.
intercede with our hearts
diarrhoea tar pits
even though they are already resisting
acid. gravel. tendrils.
as long as time
endlessly interloping
